Women control trillions of dollars in purchasing power and are America’s biggest consumers. However, less than 20% of the S&P 500 companies have women on their boards of directors, less than 5% have women CEOs and too few sponsor programs that advance women in the workplace and in the community.
Purse Power encourages women to use our economic clout to reward companies that increase opportunities for women and girls. Companies that are really doing it.
If we buy goods and services from companies that are actively engaged in making a difference for women and girls, other companies will get the message. Glass ceilings will shatter. Lives will improve.
Our goal is to make Purse Power a self-sustaining entity. We pledge 20% of the profit from the sale of Purse Power products to shelters for battered women and their children and to domestic violence prevention programs.
